Dr. Albada receives Faculty Senate Grant to study the teaching and learning function of personal stories
Dr. Albada received a Faculty Research Grant from the Academic Senate at UCSB to support her work on, Personal stories as pedagogy: Experiments to explore the efficacy of instructors' personal stories on student learning. The series of experiments will examine whether an instructor's personal stories that are used when teaching function to help students better material, or whether they are distracting. It will also explore what types of personal stories (emotion, detailed) might be most efficacious for student learning. Julia Pratt, TALE Lab RA, was instrumental in helping Dr. Albada secure this grant funding.
