Four Students Receive URCA Grants

We are proud to announce that four outstanding students from the TALE Lab have been awarded UCSB Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (URCA) Grants for their innovative and impactful research projects. These competitive grants support original student research and creative work under faculty mentorship, and we’re thrilled to see our lab members recognized for their scholarly excellence.

  • Annalise Evans – Exploring the Impact of Story Asides on Narrative Quality

  • Mika Peck – Exploring Memory Functions: The Role of Culture and Self-Construal in Relational and Academic Contexts

  • Chris Boling – Cycling Without Age

  • Laila LoRe – Functional Usage of Autobiographical Memory and Psychological Well-Being: A Cross-Cultural Study (Independent Research Project)

These projects reflect the diverse and interdisciplinary nature of research in the TALE Lab, ranging from narrative structure and memory to cross-cultural psychology and community engagement with older adults.
