December 16, 2025

We’re proud to announce that, once again, students from the TALE Lab have earned UCSB Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (URCA) Grants for their innovative and meaningful research. These prestigious and competitive awards fund original student projects carried out under faculty mentorship, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see our students consistently recognized for their academic excellence.

  • Maris Susas – Role of Autobiographical Memory Sharing in Communicating Healthcare Information
  • Emily Bristol – Role of Autobiographical Memory Sharing in Communicating Healthcare Information
  • Avani Ryan – Cross-Cultural Comparisons of Redemption and Contamination in Turning-Point Narratives and Links with Psychological Wellbeing

Collectively, these projects reflect the TALE Lab’s broad, interdisciplinary focus, with work spanning memory, health communication, and cross-cultural perspectives on psychological well-being.

Congratulations again to Maris, Emily, and Avani — we’re so proud of your accomplishments and excited to see where your research takes you next!
