Justine Johnson-Yurchak

Justine is a fourth year Psychological and Brain Sciences major, double minoring in Applied Psychology and Statistical Sciences at UCSB. In the future, she plans to obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology in order to eventually become a licensed therapist and work with teenage youth. Her interests include how to increase one’s subjective well-being through the use of positive coping strategies such as journaling, mindfulness, and emotion regulation. Currently, Justine is working on an honor's thesis project to explore how the use of positive journaling can create a positive autobiographical memory and if this finding can contribute to improving one’s overall wellness. She is an active member in the Santa Barbara Wellness Project, a community research program designed to promote lifestyles of wellness and provide wellness trainings throughout Santa Barbara County.

*Justine has graduated and will begin a post-bac at UT Austin with Finding Focus. She will be working to assess and evaluate a mindfulness-based online program designed for high school students. Enjoy your new position!
